difference in power between gutted cats and 3" DP/MP...?
Hey,
I've got an '88 TII w. 2500mi. on a rebuild...
MODS:
9:4 N/A rotors
street-port
ported WG
gutted cats
K&N drop-in air filter
RB FCD
MBC running 10psi max
Greddy Type-S BOV
Fresh 550cc injectors
I'm buying a 3" DP/MP combo this Saturday off another forum member for $100.
What kind of improvements should I expect in comparison to the gutted stock DP and Cat?
Will I get noticabley better boost response/power?

YESSSS!!! (haha)
That's what I wanted to hear. I ported to the limits of the stock flapper... I think I should be OK for the time being.
Just to make sure, you saw that my cats are already gutted? (so your hell yes is taking this into account, right?)
thanks

Well... I only have 2nd hand experience in the matter. A close friend has a nearly identical setup. Although he recently switched over to 750cc injectors, R-tek 1.7 and a Walbro. We both ran the *lower* boost with no problems, but he's now running a consistent 12psi (creeping to 13psi on a cold day in 3rd gear) with a similar MBC, ported WG and TMIC.
As soon as I install the DP/MP this weekend I'll turn *off* my MBC and see what the boost creeps to 'naturally'. I guess I'll go from there.
Thanks man
