Difference between years on Turbo IIs?

I found a red 87 TII with like 120k miles, for $1700.....im just wondering, what is the difference in years? is there any big differences? and is that year a good deal? the body and all is in real good condition, im just wondering if I should wait to find a later year....

AE Racer,

The 87-88 had the series IV engine and 89-92 had the series V. The earlier years had less OEM HP, but both engines have similar potential power (aka 450+).

The 89 was a minor redesign, so most components don't directly swap between 88 and 89.
