AFAIK the only difference was changing the low-impedance injectors (thi resistor) to high-impedance ones.

If you use low-impedance injectos with out resistors you'll fry the ECU's injectors drivers.

Injectors and minor trim differences (such as wheels were polished look, vs the painted grey or peuter found on the 87).

ok, as far as i know high imp injectors are ~14ohms while low imp are ~3imps...how recently i bought resistors from rx7.com and were told that the 3ohm resistors will work.....

someone please explain this to me....3ohm injector plug 3ohm resistor = 14 ohm injector?

It's one resistor pack, located just in front of the RHS strut tower.

I would be very wary of this advice...

Thanks, I was wondering what those were for, but I was too lazy to look it up in the shop manual.

10/86 would be the early style with the resistors.

6 ohms is about half the impedance of the stock high-impedance injectors. That means the amount of current (and hence heat) passing though the injectors drivers will be doubled. It will work for a while...

i've had an 86, 87, and 88. one difference no one else has ever pointed out is that the coolant overflow resevoir is in a different spot.

because it matters darnit.

yeah it (or the pick up for it) changed each year on 86/87/88.
