Difference b/w s4 and s5 turbo engine
Difference b/w s4 and s5 turbo engine
Hey
I have searched but i just go through useless thread after useless thread. I have a 90 gxl and am planning on doing a turbo swap and have found a 87 parts car to get stuff from.
Unfortunatly everyone says if you have a s5 stay s5 and the same goes with s4s.
But what are the differnce b/w the s4 and s5 turbo cars? I am only looking for things that would be involved in the swap. I know the s5 has more hp but why? Is it like the n/a cars and the intake manifold are different.
Please shed the light

For a reference for anyone searching i found the answer on rotaryresurections site
alternator
S5 advantages include
-intake manifold set
-turbo and manifold
-fuel rails(s5 have an integrated fuel pulsation dampner less likely to leak and catch fire)
-intercooler (s5 has a slightly larger inlet)
So now my question is revised a bit.....if i have a s5 n/a and want to go turbo. Despite those difference and the power difference. How hard would it be to do the swap? Rotary resurections site says dont mix match parts but if i go s4 engine and components, drivetrain, harness, ecu.....wut will need to be modified to work? I am assuming all gauges and interior stuff will work with the s4 turbo ecu in a s5 n/a car right?
