I have an 86 GXL. To my knowledge, GXL's come stock with LSD. So I just assume it's got an LSD. BUT they also come with 5 lug wheels, right? This one only has four lugs. So now I'm confused....

What's the code stamped on the rear end that specifies it as an LSD?

 

I'm not aware of any code. Jack up the rear and check tire rotation. All '86 GXL's had lsd and 5 lug wheels with the larger rotors. Sounds like a base model.

 

yeah...I'm thinking it's a base...just rebadged.

 

Your LSD would have a metal tag on it too.
