the drivetrain problem your describing might be the driveshafts u-joints are done. i had the same problem with the jerking and loud noise.

turns out the front u-joint was only being held on by 1 point and the rear by 2....

you should be able to find a good driveshaft from a junk yard for $50.

the one i found was on an n/a but had a bigger stronger and lighter aluminum one

I would say yes you got what you wanted... an rx7. Who cares if you have to do a little work to it to make it run right. It'll just make it that much more fun when you do get to drive it

or fix it and sell it! I ended up selling it for 2200 and then bought another 88 GXL 2 days ago for $700. It has 101k miles, was owned by an old lady for 20 years and 2nd owner only had it for a year before the original clutch went out. I even found the original paperwork from the dealer. The second owner did all the mods. It only need a clutch swap (I got one from my friend for $10), and he included 2 free sets of the vert BBS wheels. It also comes w/ a HID projector conversion kit and a 3" stainless exhaust w/ a magnaflow muffler and cat. I'm going to use this as a donor for a locost and w/ the BBS wheels and the low mileage drivetrain it should be perfect!

If you're getting the full energy suspension kit, it might be a waste of money as you may not use all of them. Not to say that you wouldnt want to.....but, I got a quote on a full kit installed in my old civic hatch and the labor would have been 2300$
