just wondering if my 88 series 4 fc3 13b turbo efi has a diagnostics pin 2give error readings?

just got my car new, so not sure about it?

 

It has a green plug by the leading coil that you can plug 2 LEDs in to, this will allow you to scan codes..

I was wondering what the extra plugs where there 4?
that info was much appreciated, if the conventional diagnostics tester like a multimeter was plugged up 2 it would it still give readings or is the LED way stated in the link the best?
