Im getting a very weird sound coming from from my engine bay. Its a very horrible clucking/chattering sound, and i cant figure out what it is. It only happens when under very heavy load, like a hard pull in 3-5th when the rpms are low. It does not happen when im winding the gears out hard. The noise is also accompanied by a slight hesitation which can be felt through the clutch, gas pedal, and shifter. I took one of my friends in a ride in it and let him hear it, he said it sounds like detonation or possibly the throwout bearing, but he doesnt know anything about rotaries, only piston engines. It has been doing this for a while now, so i dont think its detonation. Im thinking about taking it somewhere to have someone look at it, 7store is the closest 7 tuner, does anyone know if they do stuff like that?

 

Detonation sounds like someone is hitting the motor with a hammer..

 

okay, good, i guess the seals would have been gone a long time ago if it was det. anyone else have any idea what it could be?

 

TPS, BAC, vacuum leak. You can notice the engine will kick, or miss momentarily under cetain conditions, but not under heavy acceleration.
