NY demold rear quarter panels?

is it possible to take off rear quarters molded in?

thing is my 88 gxl was auto before the swap so its custom braced in.

and i have a rolling shell base model that was manual so it would mount in right and its just a much all around cleaner car frame wise plus i like the glass sunroof better.

can everything be swaped over, 1988 rx7 gxl, to, 1986 base model?

Absolutely, it can be removed (not easily). No matter how you remove it, you are going to wreck the part.

Molding body panels is retarded IMO. Paying for repair every time you bottom out or hit something is retarded.

I wouldn't touch that car's body. Too much work compared to swapping the drivetrain.

do not i repeat, DO NOT use fiberglass. if you do and even a piece of gravel bounces up and hits it, it will spider web and you will have to redo it. i have worked in collision repair for about 5 years now and i have worked with both kitty hair fiberglass and the resin strips. if you do any thing, sand the "crappy" bondo down smooth. and if you have any low spots, apply a thin layer of bondo where needed. let it dry for about 2 hours and sand it down level. get some black primer and spray it. i don't like bondo either but it holds up way better than fiberglass

I've never done it, but I imagine you will ruin (or at least heavily damage) the fenders if you try to remove them.
Good luck!

spahn1, what do you think of that 3m fiberglass resin green stuff wit fibers in it? then primer, then paint, then clear? pretty much my whole kit is already fiberglass fc2000 front, bomex rear i just picked up, re amemiya hood, and both front fenders and rear quaters.

that was done a while back but, wit the fc2000 front, and tripoint (338) raceonusa front fenders its all one peice molded, all made from fiberglass no metal front fenders, idk about the rear end but the side skirts and rear bumper are plastic of some sort stock skirts are clean under, i can see the stock rear quaters, behind the plastic used to fill the gap between the stock quarters and wide quarters and so on its pretty clean thats not my worries here more or less im just wondering if they can be removed or not, and whats good materials to use when i commence tackling this car like that, ive done some minor bodywork before, few fc's, 300zx's, 240's, and so on blah blah
