Deletable vacuum hose?

I am wondering if this vacuum hose (highlighted with yellow line) can be deleted, meaning capped on both ends? I have always had this hose that bridged the 2 factory vacuum ports and would like to simply remove the hose.

First question, could the 2 vacuum ports be capped off?
If yes to the first question, could one of them serve as the vacuum port that the master cylinder draws from, instead of the difficult under the intake port?

Thanks,

1: yes
2: no, they are too small as the brake booster uses a larger hose (which it needs!)

I found out the nipple on the top of the pic doesn't flow then air in blown into it, so easy fit. The lower nipple in the pic does flow, and I agree, it is smaller then the bottom brake booster nipple.

Thanks for the response...
