delay on power windows
hi, Do all Series Four and/or five allow the power windows to work for a few seconds after the ignition has been turned off.
If so is there a relay for this?
Because the wiring diagram in the manual i have does not show a relay, allowing for a time delay.
Please help.

There is no delay in power to the window switches. You turn the key off the windows stop working.
If you wanted something with a delay you would need to wire a timer to do that.

even simpler would be a DEI 528T timer. It is adjustable for 0-90 seconds, so you could have a 90 second delay that would still let you run the drivers switch. All the wiring would be done in the drivers kick panel.

I have had two series fours and both had a delay for the windows once key was turned to off. But they both did/do have turbo timers.
Could the turbo timer be the problem.

this is becoming a real problem. I removed the turbo timer and the windows still only work for a minute (roughly) before they stop going either up or down.

The stock power window controls on a FC should not work if the key is not on.. if they are something aftermarket has been added.

My power windows remain operative for ~60sec after the ignition is turned off. The US wiring diagrams don't show anything that would make this possible, so I guess it's a Japanese market thing. It's pretty handy. Are you all jealous?
