Well, I was trying to make the case for......"if you not selling, then what does it matter what it is worth". Also, I wanted him to get the figure of what he paid for something out of his head as it doesn't matter now. Money is made for spending. It's gone now so concentrate on fixing whats wrong with the car.

Worrying about getting ripped off is the same mentality that made people walk away from perfectly good homes.

Hey I payed $4000 for a TII 2 weeks ago. Just go ti tchecked by a specialist, needs around $10,000 in repairs including labor. $4,750 engine (doesn't need new engine but it makes low compression and can't idle till warm) broken tranny mount, missing right engine mount (sounds like the drivetrain is about to fall out) needs new engine harness, rusted out mufflers, transmission leaks, LSD leaks, turbo exhuat manifold leaking intake has air leak. May need injectors. Point is 10k mazda quoted repairs. So yeah you got rippe doff but so was I so we can make a family. Hey we both bought 87 TIIs. you sound like a canadian version of me. I love my car to death and would never sell it. I'm uber happy, mainly cause I love 7s and you never see turbo ones in GA for sale. I'm enjoying it and I have a year till I'm driving it (late to get lisence just got learners in Jan) and I wanted a project car. I plan on designing cars and I really wanted automotive knoweledge. Now I can work on my own car. It's also gonna force my lazy *** to get a job so yay for a better me!

I just bought my first fc too (which is also an 87' TII). I also just had a baby. If you watch the car close and dont make any stupid mistakes and take decent care of it as far as little things go, she'll last you till you can afford to make her feel beautiful. You'll be haveing the time of your life. I must say, if money was all that mattered, you've been ripped off, but you bought a freakin rx-7! pay five bucks, or pay a million, you've got a hot peice of mechanical history that will keep you smileing for a long time. At least thats what one other new father has to say.

Damn guys, It helps to know english

Ultrx7,Glad I dould cheer you up. Think of it this way, even if you have to overhaul the entire Car...you're learning about it and your expanding your mind/capabilities.

Funny ppl pay 10k for a year of College, and they don't miss a beat over that.
