engine is going to cost you at bare mininimum 1500 (engine plus stuff to install it).... more if you get more new parts, any porting... even more if the turbo is dead too

so factor all that into your price (also you have the install of it all if you cant do it yourself)

A good deal to you may not be a good deal to the next guy. I'm sure someone would tell me that i didn't get a good deal on my car, but others have told me I have. If you are happy with what you pay for something, then it is a good deal.

I think i can do it myself i am finishing my 84 gsl-se now putting in car this weekend.
Is it worth it at the cost of the rebuild?
What does an 87 t2 go for? I only know about 1st and 3rd gens.

I would try to get it for 600. You will probably need to do work on the harness also, since they are all pretty much brittle as hell by now

The trick is to rebuild it before it tears up a $400 housing.
That can be tempting to delay when it's currently running.
