de-wiring engine bay
this is in reference to my renesis build but im trying to keep things like this out of that thread...
so, im trying to get rid of usless wires to keep the engine bay less cluttered and looking nice. so, i broke down the battery/power harness completely. and im trying to figure out where a few of these wires connect to, so maybe i can just cut them out. the car did not come with a motor or engine harness so i cant figure it out that way.
ok, heres the pics for reference...
so this is what i got. the connector to the right by itself goes to the alternator. so thats easy. and the one to the left where all the wires come out of, goes to the main harness. but those other wires, what do they go to, and do i need them?
this is where the main harness plugs into the battery harness. giving the interior power im guessing again.
and i do not know what this goes to what so ever. but im pretty sure its useless. just wanted to check though...

Well, in the first picture I see wires/connectors for the coolant temp sensor, oil pressure sender, oil level sensor, 5th gear/reverse switch & neutral switch (transmission).
You're going to need to spend some long hours with the FSM wiring diagrams to decide what you need, and what you don't.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
A good way to do it is to follow the front harness around the engine bay and mark the connectors that you KNOW you won't need. AAS, the check connectors etc etc etc. All the remaining ones look up in the FSM as to what they are and decide if you want them or not.
It's not fun, it's a time consuming PITA but in the end this is what I pulled out of my front harness
