Dash lights working but marker/parking lights are not. NEED HELP???
I have no clue what is going on with my 86 GXL
I was at a car meet here in Stockton, when night came around I went to turn on the lights and my buddy noticed my tail lights weren't working. I didn't notice because the gauge lights were still on.
the only light that comes on outside are the headlights.
now keep in mind the gauge lights are still working. <----- thats what had me confused
I have had this happen before with another 7 but the gauge lights were out to, it was just the illum fuse.
I changed that fuse, nothing. I changed the 60a fuse in the engine compartment, nothing. I then pulled the headlight switch and noticed the harness and the switch had burn marks next to the red/black & white/green wires. (so I changed the harness since I had three laying around)
what could the problem possibly be??
is it possible for the switch to go bad where it does not turn on outer lights and still be able to turn on the gauge lights??
