dash lights and horn
hey all, i have an 87 gxl non turbo. i have a couple of questions...what kind of lights are in the idiot light gauge cluster (ebrake, low fuel etc) by kind, i mean if i wanted to replace them, what kind are they? also in the wiper, cruise control and light dials, what lights are used? second, my horn doesn't work (except when the freaking stock alarm goes off for no reason....) it probably has something to do with resoldering the cpu, any diagrams or whatnot on this?

The stock alarm triggers the alarm through the body cpu or alarm cpu depending on year. It doesn't use the stearing wheel trigger (switch). Manually hitting the horn would activate the manual switch on the stearing wheel, triggering the horn. Thereby, its either the switch, wiring, or down to the cpu, but not past the cpu. If I had to guess, I' d say switch contacts or wiring, but it could be the cpu, they are known for cold solders going bad.
As for the lights, take out the ones that don't work and goto radioshack, they've got every type of replacement bulb imaginable. Just take the ones in, hand them to a store rep and say "find these".

some of the dash lights are 194, some are others... you would need about a half dozen different types of bulbs if you want to change the lights.
