Dash lights going out

ok on my S4 I am having a problem now with after the car turns on weather the headlights are on or off after a minute or so the dash lights go out. all exterior lights stay on and work but the dash lights go out.

is there a fuse?
is there a relay?
is this a known problem?

ok I have a couple of problems so I willask questions abou them since they dont go into detail

1st:
My wipers only work on low speed (or high not intermitten)
The wiper switch has a relay inside that has failed. It will need to be replaced. There are several people that replace them, or you can do it yourself.

so are u saying if I pull the councel cover off under the actual dial switch there is a relay behind that can be replaced??

2nd :
My dash lights don't work
Did you check the dimmer control??? If you did and they still don't work the light switch connections may have burnt out. Check the back of the light switch.

ok the dimmer is fine just the dash lights go out every so often, so I need to like the wipers pull the round swith off and behind that there is a set of connections or is it the switch itself?

#1: if you wish to attempt to replace the relay yourself, read this:
http://www.mazdamark.com/DIY_wiper_repair.htm
It is not a simple swap with plug in relays.

#2 Did you check the back of the light switch??? I would expect it to be burnt from your description and you are not blowing fuses. If it is, you will need to replace the light switch and light switch harness.

I do have rebuilt versions of both switches on my webpage, but the light switch harness you will need to go to Mazdatrix or Mazda to get.

Only if it is burnt. As it says in the FAQ for FC you need to check the back of the switch.

But if it is burnt. Yes you need to replace both the harness and the light switch.
