DAMN! a few good questions

1) alright guys, how do i go about turning up the idle on an S5 JDM engine? ive heard something about taking off the intercooler? is it under there? or is it just to the left of the intercooler?

2) my car runs like ****! i dont get it at all... i had the wideband set up the other day and it shows that im running rich at idle... ( im thinking this may be because of its low idle ) when im driving her around town she runs good until i put a load on her like a hill or something, then it seems i hit some type of fuel cut and i begin to run extremely lean ( scary lean ). the car bogs and pops... this only happens after ive been driving for a while. i started having these problems after i spent some much needed time on maintenance. new oil, new tranny fluid (redline lightwheight shockproof), new sparks, and new fuel filter. any ideas? could it be the TPS? MAF? or maybe just the low idle? HELP ME!!!

3) whats a good clutch? mine has about had it... im looking to spend around 6-700 cad. throw out some good names, thanx

There is this tiny little 'set' screw thing under the TMIC, on the back/top of the UIM. I really can't describe it better than that... Maybe someone will post a pic.

Try searching for TII idle adjust (or something)

Do you have a BAC you can adjust?

Now that I think about it, you might have a vac. leak/boost leak. Have you tried spraying around the engine bay with carb. cleaner? Do you have a boost gauge? If so, what vac #'s are you seeing at idle?

the rules say that bumping is not allowed. you may have to wait more then 30min to get an answer to your questions.

the fastest way to get instant answers is to search.

with the info you gave it could be anything.

check the FSM.. there are links all over the place. check the FAQ at the top of this section.
there is lots of info on this boad and in the fsm about adjusting you idle.

do you have a boost gauge? maybe your hitting fuel cut.... dont know with the small amout of info given.
maybe you have a vaccume leak, tps out of adjustment or bad, spark plug wires put on wrong... ect.

you need to go rule out some more possible problems before asking someone on here to type out everything that it could be and how to check for every problem.

search for: "tii idle" "test tps" "test vaccume leak".... we can help... but we cant figure out whats wrong and fix it for you.

The J-spec UIM has no air bleed on the BAC.

There is an old school idle stop screw on the back (firewall side) of the TB.

It takes a long screwdriver to reach it.
I put a red flag on my screwdriver so I wouldn't accidentally leave it stuck back there.

Of course - if you turn it very far, you have to reset the TPS.

About #2:
If the TPS is about worn out it will develop dead spots of open or high resistance in the sweep of its motion.
When that happens the ECU will give random fuel cuts.
link to short vid (bad TPS)
