Well - for those who may read this - i forgot where my last post faded into.
My first problem was an engine that wouldnt turn all the way over. - come to find out 1. it had 3 different spark plugs in it. anyway - it purrs like a kitten.
now my problem is - the catalytic converter may be stopped up - i loosened up the connection from the back of the engine to where the front of the catalytic converter attaches.
wow - it makes a crazy loud noise now. but
so how much to replace the exhaust system in one of these babys?
Any advice on what certain type etc?
specs:
88 sky blue/silver - moon roof - fittipaldi racing rims - body kit rear spoiler. etc
non turbo though......ugh.

well if your sparkplugs were screwed up that may have let tons of fuel pass through your engine and fuel kills catalytic convertors. are you sure that your cat is clogged?
And also that one is your pre-cat. They suck. They're only for when your car is warming up.
I would pull off the precat to check if the maincat is still good, shine a flashlight through it if you can get it off and your head under there. Because once your pre-cat starts to break up, it will just break up and clog up your main cat.
If its just your pre-cat. I'd get a pipe to replace it, and connect to the main cat. Give you a little performance.
Not sure who makes a pre-cat replacement pipe for FC, maybe a N/A guy can guide you in the right direction
If your main cat is gone too rx7.com sells some bonez high flow cats. fits from your exhaust manifold to your catback.
thats probably your best buck to replace your cat and get a little performance from it.
I wouldnt get any mazda parts though, very expensive and you can get some performance from aftermarket bits.
http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html Says $315
Thats about the best option if you want to keep a catalytic convertor and stay emissions legal........as for getting rid of the cat, there are many many options my son
