Custom Center dash peices

Anybody out there have some custom center dash peices they've done?
I am working on something right now to hold the vents, CD deck, and climate controls. It'll be made out of fiberglass and painted black or covered in black vynal (sp?). I'll post up some pics when I am done.
Just looking for some ideas... I think a CUP HOLDER is in store as well!

i'm planning on redoing my dash also in fiberglass - but removing the vents and all the heater/ac components to fit what i want in it. here's a drawing of my concept. it's a before and after....

hope it helps - and good luck

yea that's a cool design.

I decided against doing the entire center dash piece. instead I am just doing a mold for my CD player. it eliminates the ash tray and 12v outlet (will be replace with a different unit).
it's curing right now. I will get some pics up when I can get a camera. we need more interior fabrication here!

Yellow interior, I can tell thats not a daily driver. No ******* way I could stand that for more than a few minutes if even that. I would certainly have done something that matched with the rest of the car like a light gray or light blue. It hurts my eyes to look at those pics. Those speakers look like a 6.5

Actually, you didn't do anything custom to the dash (at least in the sense of this thread). All you did was paint it to match the rest of that hideous yellow accenting....

I'm pretty sure he was looking for pictures where people had:

...not painted OEM center dash pieces.

chill guys. it was still helpful to me in that it showed me I COULD fit some components on a higher sound stage than the stock speaker locations. It's his car and if he likes it that is ALL that matters. I wouldn't do yellow to my car either but I don't like ANY bright interiors (mine is a black/black convertible) it's still good to see what people are doing to their 7's.

I am glad he contributed in a way you two have not. don't bring you hater **** to my thread.

Fiberglass to the rescue!

as you can see it points at the driver so it's neato and sweet. lol

Not done yet, obviously, have a little more sanding to do... then I will be wrapping it in vinyl to match the interior.

I'll throw it in the car tomorrow for some action shots.

Whatcha think?

my new toys!

i think doing 3 guage cutouts right under the stereo, w/ the same angles would look pretty sweet... but the stereo alone protruding that far out of the console just doesnt sit well to me.... oh well, most people on this forum say i have bad taste anyways
