craziest thing to happen in my 7
craziest thing to happen in my 7
i was leaving the mall and it was quite cold out so my car flooded and when this happens i usually push start the car but i decided to pull the egi fuse like i had read on the forums. it worked but as i was starting the car the tach needle jumped and then dropped to zero even though the car was running and the speedo stoped working. so i drove home using my trusty shiƒt up light and when i got home i restarted the car and the tach and speedo worked fine any idea what happened?

That sounds weird... I don't know about the speedometer, but on some of the battery/alternator research I've done in the past few days, a dead tachometer is one of the first signs of a dying alternator...
This doesn't look like an alternator issue to me though *shrugs*

I had my tac do the exact same thing to me while unflooding my engine after pulling the egi. I dono what did it either but i know what your talking about
did you turn the key back to off before replacing the fuse? or did you just put it in with the key in the second position? i'm not sure if that would even make a difference, but there's a chance.

It's something to do with everything that the EGI fuse ties into. It's an electronic quirk I guess. EGI stands for "Electronic Gasoline Injection". I can't think of how that might tie into the speedo and tach though. Anyway, like I said, it's probably one of the many quirks of the FC.
Good luck,
