i came home with a new rad. cap for my rx7, put it on and went to go start it. it would only crank, then right when you think it'll start it makes a loud backfire, it kept doing that over and over, i when to go and try to unflood (just pulling the fuse and cranking) the motor about 3 times, still dont start. im going to try and unflood with the atf tomorrow. it just started and ran fine yesterday. tps went bad? afm went bad? what your guys think. i was also looking at some old theads none of them really seemed to help

my car did that when it was running real lean and wasn't getting enough fuel but i'm slightly modified with a full s5 longblock and all the fixings with a safc II to control the thing. i'm not sure if that is your problem but it could very well be. kinda hard to say with the discription you gave.

the car was super flooded, it took me 3 days to deflood it. when it finally started there was so much smoke in my garage i couldnt even see in front of me. pulled the car out about 30-45sec later, smoked up the corner of my block up and took about 15mins for my garage to clear up the smoke that was already in my garage (i have a small one car garage too). before i parked it the car was driven and fully warmed up. only cause to this is leaky injectors, imma make a fuel cut switch as a band aid for now. i know i didnt get no help from no one but hopfully this will help sumone.
