crane fireball hi-6dis2 ignition, to coil on plug or not? leading or trailing

i have a crane cams hi-6dis2 ignition box from a previous dsm project that i've had for years and i'd like to put it to use. the problem is that its specifically for dual coil packs like our trailing ignition coils. most everything i read says to use a box like this on the leading coils which are fired together, waste spark style. so do i wire this ignition to just run the one leading coil or do i run it on the trailing coils that are fired individually? i also have a variety of coil on plugs that i got out of rotax and yamaha snowmobiles, also some mitsu coil on plugs off of a johnson outboard 2 stroke that rev's super fast and high rpms, in the 9k range. i'm leaning toward wiring the c.o.p.s from the outboard motor, as individual leading coils, use the same signal from the ignitor for both channels so the timing is the same, any ideas? opinions?

installed the ignition, using only one channel of its two channel ability right now with stock two post coil. going to go with some coil on plugs coils once i get some new spark plugs and wire up the rev limit switch. it seems to idle slightly smoother but other than that no noticable difference, maybe revs smoother, no noticable hesitation at any rpms now, like the previous one at around 3800 is gone. looking to maybe advance a few degrees on the leading side. i'll also calculate what mpgs i had this tank compared to the next one. the one before seemed to be 17-18 depending on my driving conditions.
