Crack on turbo housing, ok to use??

I just got my turbo back from BNR. I got the stage one rebuild. I also ended up paying and extra 50 dollars for a new exhaust housing because I guess mine had a real bad crack on the inside. Well, when I opened up the box, I was disappointed to see that the new exhaust housing is cracked on the turbo-to-manifold flange. The crack is hard to see in the picture, but it goes down into each exhaust runner about 10mm. I guess it's not that bad, i'm just looking for a few other opinions. Thanks.

If it was used, you can deal with it, the crack isn't that bad. Its when its on the outside of the exhaust housing for the turbo that it can cause exhaust leaks. Either way, becuase you payed money for a 50$ replacement, you should send it back. Email or call him first.

Thanks for all your replys. I just got off the phone with Brian and BNR. He told me that the 50 dollars was for a "new to me" used housing. He said that this one is in a lot better shape than my old one. He assured me that it would run flawlessly. So, what do you think. I guess I don't mind the 50 dollars, I just want the turbo to work well. I should also say that I am more than happy with the rest of the rebuild. Brian does great work and was super helpful on the phone. I guess as long as it will not cause any problems, I will run it. What do guys think. Thanks again.

Yeah dude... Mine was cracked just like that when i sent it to Bryan, and he said it was in good shape... Its not going to fall off or anything..

the only real problem for a crack on the inside is TWO cracks on the inside that will eventually meet and lead to a chunk falling out!!!!!!! And your housing aint nothin liike that!!

Thanks for all your advice guys. I guess I'm just a little paraniod. This is my first rx-7/turbo and I want to make sure I do it right. I bought the car for 200 dollars not running. So far I've just been buying new parts and fixing others. As soon as I get my irons back from Racing Beat, I should be ready to put it all back together. I can't wait to drive it for the first time. Anyways, thanks again.

as long as the crack isnt humongous and doesnt let anything out to the open then you should be fine.
