I just got an old rx7, it's been in the garage for decades, the owner took it out and we went for a sping, it ran pretty good. So i got it, then I had to drive it back to where a live...which is about 300 miles away....ya...it actually ran pretty good, but about 2 3rd way thro, it start to choke a little, then it got worse, kept choking...then it died....took me a lil while to get it start back up again, and that happened to me couple more times on the way back. It was really hot too...just thought i d mention.

The car is a 1986 RX7 sports model. Now I daily drive it, it runs pretty smooth, only died on me once, which was on the hottest day of the week, the rest of the week is pretty cold, so I think it's heat related..anyone know what could cause that problem?

I want to do a full a 60k tune up...but no one here seem to know what that means...so what dose a 60k tune up include?

I was going to flush the brake fluid, and there seem to be racing brake fluid...whats the difference?


one last question, is there any additives that I can run with my fuel to clean the car up? like all the carbon build ups, and the skunks in the fuel tank and all those good stuffs.

Thanks, but what I was wandering is that if there s any additive I can run with my fuel to clean up things like my injectors, fuel lines...etc. I can't seem to find any info on that subject.

 

I've been told to use this stuff for marine engines, dont know what its called. Metal bottle, red and white label. It's supposed to clean the crap out of your injectors, and also help pass emissions (which is why i was told to use it ) However, I dont know if it would be safe for a rotary or not.

It'd be better to just take the time to remove the tank and injectors and have them cleaned seperately, as well as the fuel rails and lines, while youre at it change your intake gaskets and vacuum lines.
