On the contrary, I have a lot of respect for their accomplishment. I was just looking for the point you were trying to make and you informed me.

Btw, I have a 86' N/A that currently doesn't run very well. However, this is the first car I've ever worked on and I've managed to replace a clutch, transmission, somewhat fix an idle problem, and successfully reassemble the engine bay I tore apart. Is that less of an accomplishment?

I never said you made "A" mistake. I added in a piece of my history, kind of a quote of the day thing, not directed in any specific direction...

Aight, here's another question. How much HP can a vert hold before you have to do major chassis modifications? And what are those modifications you would have to do?

I will tell you when my verts done. ahaha I am getting some rust taken car of now and dropping in a roll bar to go with the rest of my full suspension upgrade. But I don't think you will have to worry that you will bend the frame because rotaries don't lay down that type of torque. Now dropping your exhaust pipe size down to 2 inches will choke the HP numbers but will raise the TQ threw the roof. I am torn between the GT35/40, PT76, and the new GT35/37s. I still have some time to make my choice and I do have a borg warner S300 sitting in my living room ready to go but I want the spool time of the ball bearing. It will be after the new year before I can get all the fuel stuff done to try and run this setup. I want to replace all the fuel lines with SS so I don't have a pin hole and include engine fire to all the **** that needs to be fixed.

And I think some people need to find out what streetable means to them. My 7 is not a daily driver. I find myself having to make time to drive it. So my tollerances of "streetable" will be different than someone who drives back and forth in traffic. If I had to drive my 6 puck in traffic all day I would go back to a SS. And I think it goes without saying that you will be running EMS on a car wanting to go any higher than 40hp over stock. Also you can have a few maps done and switch between them from a laptop and or a Gameboy advance (in my wildest dreams) from inside the car and set boost settings when you think 450+ is needed to smoke the car next to you. So for the guys who are dreamers thinking they are going to build a 500hp car and drive it around like that at all times are mistaken or richer than me.

What kind of frame supports need to be installed for a convertible to handle 400-500 hp at the wheels?

minimum for a vert would be a roll bar just to save you if you flip it. Other than that nothing that major. I don't see you bending the frame with 350-400lbs to torgue. Call Kirk racing for a vert roll bar. Also I am going to fill mine with foam. Might do the frame rails where the doors open up

With a few tweaks I aim to up the power and continue to run pump gas.

The stock drive line is holding fine. I will likely try a half BP next time if I really want the 500 mark, but I'll get there with my street port this time. Oh my turbo is essentially a bb PT67 with the GTQ turbine wheel and a .84 divided housing.
Your setup is very similiar to mine except I have a non-BB turbo. (The rest is the same)

I made 392whp on the stock ECU with an AIC, 4x 550's, 2x 850's on pump gas.

I just picked up a microtech LT8, 3 bar MAP sensor, new intake, and new ignition and will be going back to tune.

500whp is doable, just not cheap

Is the PT67 comparable to a T66?

Youre not going to make 600hp on a T66 and a streetport unless you plan to spend a ton of money. Even then, I doubt its doable. Sorry.

You could get 500hp but its going to be hard to do it on a "budget". Im not saying its impossible...It just may take a while to get the money. Good luck with it either way.

BTW, if you really were gonna make 600hp, youd have to get your engine doweled or else it would pull itself apart in the process...

I hope icemarks sees your question about the vert frame holding up. I think i read a post where he said that they made the frame stronger on the vert because it does not have the roof to support it so they put some kind of extra bracing. I could be totaly wrong here. mybe im just on crack.....

you know... the stock fc motor won't hardly handle 500 without depositing a rotor housing or cast iron on the ground...
and the frame is gonna be stressed... it will most likely hold... but remember thats not the point - you don't want to run great for a week before your rear end leaves the car. (oh yeah, a ford 9" rear end wouldn't hurt)
