A Couple of questions.
-i've tried searching and been reading for a while, but I can't seem to answer my problem. So, I am sorry in advance if this is a repeat topic (im sure it is) -
(89 GTU w/ Intake, Headers, and Exhaust)
So on the way home today from MazFest My car started idling weird. Sounds like I have an Exhaust leak somewhere. Jacked up the car, and found nothing. The exhaust leak note sounds pretty loud as well. With that in mind, my idle started to act funny, but anything above 1k rpm it idles pretty fine. But the crazy exhaust leak sound is still there. So I called up my cousin, and he tells me immediately that it may be a failed Airpump.
So now for the questions-
1- may I still run the car with a failed airpump? (airpump still on the car just not working)
2- the tube for my airpump (air pump tube that connects to the cat) isn't connected. I deleted the cats so I had no where to connect the air tube. So we kinda just ziptied it beside the exhaust . Does this affect my 5th and 6th port because they aren't getting any back pressure since it is not connected to the cat???
Also when we jacked up the car, the air pump tube wasn't pumping out air anymore on idle. From what i know it blows out air during idle and cuts off at a certain rpm. Would this be a good indicator that my air pump is dead?
Thanks in advance...!!!

ok so now i really don't know what is wrong with my car. besides the fact that it sounds like there is an exhaust leak. my car just really sounds like its knocking.... and its not a subtle knock. kinda loud. made my cousin hear it and kinda just assumed the worse. (blown). but i wouldn't know why it would blow. I never race, drift, or do anything stupid. i take it up to high rpm's every now and then but that's about it.
also I was under the hood trying to find maybe a loose vacuum or something and I found this plug that wasn't connected. not sure what it is. It is right in between the alternator and the manifold. But more towards the manifold side.
sorry for bad picture. it was taken from my phone.
