Angry couple problems

First off, I have an 87 n/a rx-7. I just put a rebuilt engine in it a couple of months ago and I'm still chasing bugs. I need some help with some of these problems.

1. Bad idle at stop, idles from about 800 down to 500 and then back up again.
2. Backfires or detonates a lot. I don't know which, but it sounds quiet for a backfire and the sound is coming from under the passager's seat there about.
3. Blue smoke after a start up where it has been sitting for a few hours. I've checked the oil metering system to see if I switch a tube, but they're all correct.

If anyone can help me with some of these problems, it would be greatly appreciated.

It has about 1050 miles on it since rebuild.

1. I'll check Bac
2. What do you mean by mixture? The timing and plug order is good. I'm going to replace the plugs and wires soon.
3. Can I do a compression test the same way as a piston engine and what should I be seeing?

Thanks for the help.

I would assume Icemark means air/fuel mixture.
