counterweight question

counterweight question

im going to buy a 12.5 flywheel from rx7store.net and i didnt want to get raped on the price for the counterweight. i was wondering if i had to get the one they have or can i just get one from somebody on here?

As long as the rear weight is for the same year as the rotating assembly you have (front counter wieght, and rotors), you'll be fine.

so a 89-91 TII counter weight would work? which fc does it come off since the TII's dont come with them

you need a 89-91 counterweight. If you had a Non turbo, you could get it from a car that had an auto tranny since those weights were detachable from the drive plate. Turbo rotors don't weigh the same as non-turbo rotors, so I don't know if using a N/A automatic counterweight would work on your car.

Edit

According to mazdatrix, the 89-92 TII and N/A rotors do weigh the same. So you should be able to use the counterweight from a car that had a automatic tranny
