I guess my response would be, sure you can unplug it. But my follow on question would be what is it you're trying to accomplish by doing it?

Well removing things isn't the best place to start.

Get the engine hot. Then remove the TPS plug.

You say on your other posts that you have large surges at idle. So if the large surges stop.....maybe it is the TPS causing that.

If so, then learn how to use a simple digital meter. After that get the engine HOT and probe the green/red wire on the TPS conenctor with a needle and set the TPS screw til the meter reads............ONE volt dc. Intercooler has to be removed on a turbo car to do this. You want to remove the intercooler as fast as possible so the engine does not cool down when doing the above.

Surges can happen from improper routing of vacuum lines. Like routing a primary air bleed line to a source of vacuum instead of filtered air. Or routing the air hoses of the oil injectors to a source of vacuum instead of filtered air. Or the grommets on the BOTTOM of the fuel injectors are leaking air causing the pulsing idle.

Spraying a can or two of STARTER FLUID around the engine should locate you air leak that is causing you surging problem.

Or pulling the TURBO INLET DUCT off and checking for CRACKS at the mating end of that duct with the turbo. Cracks cause surge problems.
