Guys, you're making this harder than it has to be...19-years experience aircraft mechanic's way: get an oil drain pan or similar container, can of brake care or similar solvent for the cleanup, and your finger, any finger, your choice...crack the bleeder open 1/4 turn, put your finger over the opening and keep it there...have the "assistant" continually push the brake (or clutch) pedal down/ release it up, repeatedly, until you're satisfied that particular line/ run is bled... as long as you keep your finger on the bleeder valve, no air will get in, and you'll be able to "feel" when the bubbles are gone...no messing around with hoses, trying to figure out exactly when to open/ close the valve, etc...I've done all my bleeding projects like this forever, and have NEVER had a problem with air in the system, squishy brakes, whatever...just clean up the mess when you're done! Happy bleeding...
