i would venture to say that the bulb is IN the jspec lens. you might wanna give corksport a call or email to find out about the setup if you want to be sure though. and there is no reason why you would have to get rid of your headlights.
actually...forget that, i wan't the whole freaking car

u know i was interested in those things but havent really found them around!! i had some BBS rims that came with my 1st generation 7 but they were like 14 or 15inchers and gold!! was that part of the limited edition in 83? i also had the back seat too, but ended up putting the cubbies in out of a 84/85 gsl!!

BACK FROM THE DEAD! Stay on topic....... anyone have these lights? they are 177 a set at corksport. I'm looking to get new lenses, since mine are all yellowed and cracked and have moisture in them. The FTP lenses from mazdatrix are 79 a piece...so the price sounds good since these have little lights in them that I could wire up. Does anyone have any experiance with them? How well do those little wedge lights show up on the car?

The bulbs are really just city/marker lights. They look cool at night...thats about it. I have 'em on my car - these are not made by Corksport. They are simply OEM mazda pieces from the Japanese cars.

do you thnk it would be easy enough to cut out the socket and mod it to accept a slightly larger and brighter bulb, like a turn/running light bulb? might be worth a try.

Instalation:
ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE PEOPLE!!!!!
Step one: pop your headlights up
Step two: Reach behind with an 8mm or 10mm (cant remember) socket wrench and unskrew
Step three: have fun pulling them out
Step four: Put new ones in
Step five: Unplug your side markers and plug the FTP's in OR mock up your own wiring.
DONT run a higher wattage bulb. You'll melt your $180 lenses.
DONT use them as driving/fog lights. They are just a 5watt bulb and are designed to be front markers because in japan the the yellow markers were ONLY turn signals and did not light up with the parking lights.

Anybody who would pay that much money for 5W marker lights needs their head read. They are not "city" lights (what the hell is that anyway?), they have the same 5W output US FC marker lights already have. They are no more or less visable than your existing lights.
