corksport exhaust on TII
is it worth it to get the corksport catback on the TII, reason Im asking is that on their website it states that it is a 3" exhaust that tapers to 2-1/2" at the cat, wouldnt this negate any performance gains made by the addition of a full 3" (apex-i, HKS, etc)? but if there are noticible performance gains on a TII I will purchase one, any thoughts?

Well, I have it on my N/A right now.
It wasn't 2 1/2 on mine. It was more like 2 3/4inch.
I would assume that partial 3inch would be better than just 2 1/2 all the way.
It's also a straight through muffler.
I would think that 2 1/2 to that point would be semi-beneficial. Since it would be a bit back pressure(torque) but not a whole lot since it opens up after the cat.
Just my thoughts though. With my cat still in place I create enough back pressure still for my ports to actuate.
In the end of summer when I get a TII I'll be putting the CS single on it.
Oh yeah and on an N/A it is VERY loud. Dunno about Turbo.

The only 'full 3" exhuast on the market is the racing beat full system and the JIC Magic 90spec thingy- In other words, unless it comes with a downpipe and cat/mid pipe its not a true 3" cat back.
I got the corksport for my TII becuase it was cheap and light. Its built well and fits. I think the muffler looks retarted, but I'll deal with it for now. Im running a RB 2.5 dp, 2.5 silencer and the CS cat-back and my car is ******* loud- It accually gets a little better while driving, but at idle its loud.

like how loud are we talking, keep in mind that for the time being I will have the cats still there (until it passes emissions and I get my base pass, then they are off)

Well. I only know how it sounds on a N/A.
The turbo will naturally be quieter.
On my car with downpipe and main cat still it is loud.
I live in arizona where we have stucco exteriors and brick walls to deaden city noise and I can hear my car idle in the driveway in the back of my house.
You will always hear your exhaust over your radio even if you have it cranked up if your on the highway.
On mine it's louder on low end and at 5/6 port actuation area is shuts up and then gets a little louder after 5k
I hear pops and poofs all the time though so I want to get rid of my cat so I can see back fires.
If you have pissy neighbors then don't drive your car at night.
If you have the money I would recommend the Racing Beats. They aren't so "Bling Bling" but they have a good quiet note when not gunning it. I would have gotten them but I didn't have the money at the time.

I have a 3 inch downpipe going on today and we are going to cut the 12inches of 2.5 off and weld up my 3inch mid pipe for the full three inch action. Although I am not impressed with the shitty grade SS that they used on the tip. The can stays polished and the tip turns brown. I called them up at corksport and asked them what was going on and the guy pretended like it was the first time they have ever heard that. BS

I havent had a problem with corksport. I can only say good things about them. When I bought my 3inch downpipe from them they contacted me before they shipped it to insure that I wasnt going to install it on a stock catback cause it wouldnt fit. Once they shipped it it immediatly got here, installation was a snap, and the SS hasnt changed color on me. Its still shiny silver (when its clean).
