Corksport Dual Exhaust
You know what would be cool? a Corksport dual catback exhaust
|
Why, their stuff sucks already, dual sucking=better? ;)
|
Their stuff sucks? I'm happy with CS products personally :)
|
Yeah their service is great and their products are pretty nice, id buy a dual corksport catback in a heartbeat, provided it was in the $400 range
|
I dunno about the dual catback, I like their single just fine. The dual would probably end up looking like the the apexi duals, which I'm not a fan of personally.

Yeah they suck, and their dog too. You know where i'm comming from and what i'm talking about. 400 dollar cat-back? go borla, nuff said. |
I don't have a problem with CS stuff... except their exhaust silencers (I've blown out and lost two so far for two different reasons)
The CS single exhaust fits it's own little niche... I doubt there would be enough demand to make a dual exhaust worthwhile. The success of their single is based on how cheap it is. |
yes i will say there silencer insert sucks, mine cracked from too much heat!!! lol but then i realized i dont need that insert anyway!!!

You're actually right on. We've mocked up and prototyped a couple different designs of a dual for the FC but we couldn't get one that we could keep the cost down enough on without sacrificing something. We don't want to make crap. |
Damn I wish you guys made one I am looking into an ssautochrome dual turboback now they just havent finished production yet
|
ssautochrome suck balls
|
I was going to make (and even had two examples running around) of a dual exhaust for the FC simular to the SSautochrome and Corksport ones.
But when I published here asking for pre-orders for the $500 dual system, so I could go ahead and make 10 up (my minimum to keep the cost at $500 shipped) I didn't get one person willing to put $200 down towards it. And I sold a total of 5 of my single exhaust systems (at only $250 shipped)... This was for polished SS cats back system, with 2.5" to 3" piping and a muffler(s) that actually had a rumble to them not a high pitched "open exhaust on a Honda" sound, and even included a baffle for people with no cats. What a waste of time... FC owners don't want to spend crap on their cars. |

And you didn't know what I was talking about when I said 400 dollars. Try reading again. |

I would also be interested in seeing the design well 500 bucks the exhaust should be 3" back to prob slightly smaller piping at the y pipe.

Sorry, it was 4 am here. I'm retarded. And anyway, the hell is your problem with us? |
i agree, whats your problem with corksport?? ive boughten countless things from them with no issues, everything is always top notch.
and damn mark, i never saw your exhaust either or i wouldve boughten it, 250$ shipped is killer for that 2.5" to 3" with a nice sounding muffler, i paid 250 shipped for my N1 single. also, i agree with you, 2nd gen owners dont want to spend jack on their cars, which is why most of the other guys (FD and other more expensive cars to buy and maintain) poke fun at us, i think anyways. and then they wonder why something breaks or their car doesnt perform as it should, etc etc etc. |
I have no problem with anything with Corksport other then their presilencers. Mine broke after a week. I had to send in a picture to get a new one and I don't have a digital camera.

My first one blew out in a crazy downpour on vacation in Florida. The mounting hardware came loose. The second one blew out, hit the pavement, and bounced over a full-size Dodge truck behind me. The silencer cracked off around the mounting bolt. Lesson learned: CS silencers blow out whenever they feel like it. Oh, yeah, and the brand-name plate fell off leaving behind four weld spots on the tip. Nice. (I have no problems with their front or rear strut bars, or stainless clutch line) Oh, and one time I asked them for a sticker for my toolbox... the invoice said "2 CorkSport stickers, white. free" but there where no stickers in the box. I still have faith in them and order from them, but they have thier moments. |

LOL! Maybe their phylosophy behind that one was "you get what you pay for :P " Sorry just have to laugh at that. Sucks, but still funny ;) |
I don't see why there is so much hatred towards CorkSport. It makes no sense when they are one only a few companies out there that are actively producing aftermarket parts for our aging cars. Most places that sell RX-7 parts sell mostly FD parts it seems, and most places are outrageous on price. I've bought a few things from them (shift knob, SS clutch line, etc.) and have gotten it very quickly (2 days) and I'm on the other side of the country. I also have there PS exhaust on my car, I got it second hand and I am extremely happy with it. The thickness of the piping and the quality of the welds is nice, the THICK, big tip really sets it off. It may be a little loud, and it might cause a headache on a long highway trip, but that might be attributed to the fact that a Bonez N/A racepipe is in front of it. Maybe I'll put a resonator in its place.
Anyway, @ $289 for a SS exhaust, I don't see how that's a bad thing. Considering it is 3", mandrel bent, fits perfectly, and fully SS aside from the flanges, it's a deal! Also, take into consideration their selection of Mazdaspeed parts, MOMO, FD, SE3P, MX-5, and MX-3 parts. As far as the problems with the silencers go, they are $17!!! If it falls out because you didn't tighten the bolts enough or use loctite, you're out maybe $20. The Apex'i ones are close to $40 and they aren't even SS.... Vince |
Mine rattled from the second I put it in, I tried alot of different things. Maybe I just got a bad apple?

And I suggest you look up the word "hatred" in the dictionary before using it again... |

FD owners spend money because FD owners HAVE money. Most FC owners (myself included) are teenagers making $6-10 an hour working maybe 20 hours a week when not at school. Most of those guys with enough money to buy all the best stuff for an FC have enough money to buy an FD, so they do. Why the hell does everyone get all pisssy when we dont wanna shell out a month or two's pay on an exhaust when cheaper options are available? |
I try to get quality parts that I can afford for my car. For about a year I'd wanted the RB exhaust, but around 1100 for the complete setup is a little bit radical for a 19 year old. Got a presilencer first, and like six months later (2 days ago) i picked up an RB catback, used, for a few hundred less than it would've been shipped to my door new.
We're not ALL cheap... |

You haven't "grown up" yet. Sound will matter. Its only little punk kids that hang out with rice boys that are "used" to the sound that don't care, most of the time. But once you start driving the car it starts to get annoying quick. Its not an Extra 700 dollars from CS(518) -> RB(789) Considering that CS is single and RB is dual you're paying extra first of all for the second cannister, Even without a clean cut comparo its only about 271 dollars difference. A second muffler from RB is 280 dollars. Its quite cheap if you actually take into account the REAL numbers. I swear the deadbeats around here are sickening. |
Corksport sounds awesome so does RB, Rb weighs more but looks right. Cs is lightweight, and it doesn't look half bad, itd look completely right if there was two, which is the point of this thread. I think CS is just as much worth the money as anything else, some people are being really cut-throat in here.

Staticguitar is 100% correct... CS is cheaper but you are only getting single exhaust... with our cars dual exhaust is an option and looks 50x better in my opinion. THis whole thread was about getting cs to create a dual thats all I want I want a company to creat a dual turbo back exhaust at 500 or under... SSautochrome was doing it and you can say they suck balls or whatever you want but dont knock them untill you try their product. Their exhaust was extremely nice at 3" all the way back to dual mufflers. It was slightly louder than the RB but if you can deal with it then its worth it. All I want is a company to come out with dual exhaust for FC in a reasonable price bracket.
|
Hey if CS can do a dual exhaust for cheap, thats good but I still won't like the gaudy'ness of it all. I dislike any co. that will stand for gaudy products just so tasteless for our cars!
|
Why do you beleive Corksport is so terrible Santiago?

I'm willing to bet that most people who SPEND on their FC's have another car to drive daily. And for those of you who think you won't get sick of a deafening exhaust every day - you will. We all get older and eventually it loses it's appeal. |

I don't have the most money in the world, but I would rather spend more to get something I want or like, just not saving 200 bucks for a shitty exhaust. These are the people that sell cars with tons of shit parts of which I have to spend hours replacing so its done right. I went with the Corksport I know, but it was because I like loud, and I like CS' quality. Plus it was weight reduction for me. I wouldn't mind a Racing Beat. IMHO both are great products. I got class, I'll rant more later. |

Heh, I'll be the first one to admit I'm a broke ass.
And I'm sure I'm not the last one to admit that every penny I make ends up in that damn car, and I love every second of it. Oh, and for you guys who are breaking silencers, that blows, quit buying new ones! If you need a new one send me an email to ryan@corksport.com and I'll hook you up with another one. I'll stand by my stuff, it breaks, was properly secured, then there's no reason you should have to pay for another one. I'll get back on the bosses about making a dual exhaust for our cars, see if I can work something out again. Believe me, I wish we made one too :D |
I wish you did too, you customer service is pretty good, only problem i ever had was i bought the "Savanna RX-7" rear decal, and i got silver instead of the specified black.
|
amen to the duals
|
hell yes get them duals and you will have a lot of happy people
