Cork Sport Type II Front Bumper

Has anyone used the Corksport Type II front bumper?

Did you have any problems with how it fits on?

Is it easy to put on?

Looks like it fits well and looks good, but what I meant is it hard to get it to fit good or does it go on right in place without having to work it around? (how well are the bolt patterns matched...?)

they fit perfect for 89-91's. 86-88 require some fitting.

I sense sarcasm in your post....

How bad do I have to modify my S4 fenders to get the corksport to fit? How well do the S5 fenders fit on on 86? Any modifications?

I want to get this front with the Bomex side skirts. I stil haven't decided on the rear, yet. I was gung ho on the Bomex rear, but now I second guessing myself. The more and more I look at it, it does look really BIG.

The yellow car actually looks good with clear lenses. Theat car would be perfect if the molding could have been shaved in the front to match the rest of the car. Still looks great, though.

yeah i really do like that front end but unless you get series 5 fenders the trim lines dont match up.
i tried to get the knightsport front end, but seeing how it was going to be 750 for the front, 650 for shipping to the states, and they arent going to have anymore until february b/c the tokyo auto salon, looks like i'm forced to get myself a different one....
so looks like this is the next available one, not of course leaving out RE amemiya but i cant really afford 2000 for just the bumper

This kits are so ridiculiously expensive. Why not just get the 4 pcs BOMEX for 12oo.

yeah the kits are kinda expensive, but you get what you pay for. The Bomex is find except for that it is poorly designed.
1) the back will not fit most big "performance" exhausts, and the trim just stops.
2) the front allows abosolutly no air flow, and the trim just stops.
3) the sides are decent.

my $.02

anybody have any series 5 fenders for sale??

You don't need the 89 up fenders ... just the side mouldings. The nose fits well, mine is the purple one and it's on with no modifications. It's going back to the body shop though for some tweaking. I want it to be perfect. Also the body shop is going to shave the turn signal holes, and shave the drivers side FTP hole. It should look really smooth then.

To get it for $400, just go to www.corksport.com That's why it's called the CorkSport nose. This may have been said already, but it's actually just a copy of the Border nose.

so only the moldings have to be used? i thought the series 5 fenders moved the molding a bit, (as in vertical) ??? cause that'd be easy....

I like that border/corksport nose, I think I'll try for one of them since I missed out on getting an RE amemiya for 250 along with the modded fenders.

argg I am so pissed I missed that deal.

I have a Mazda 91 FC front end that was getting a face lift, I got the front smoothed so the bumper strip thing was taken out, I don't have it painted yet, but I might try to sell it.

I like how the corksport is just a nose and you dont have to modify the fenders. EDIT - the more I look at that bottom pic I can't tell if the fender is modified the bottom pic is the auctual Border front and it looks like the fenders are cut below the strip. Is the CORKSPORT the same way?
