Corbeau Clubman seat
I searched and found only four vague references here, and none on teamFC3S.
I'm looking for FC owners who have or have had these seats installed in their FC. I have an opportunity to get ONE (all I need anyway!) black cloth lightly used Corbeau Clubman seat as part of a local trade+sale for my Recaros that I've been wanting to sell off for a long time.
1) How well would it fit in the FC?
2) Is it comfortable?
3) Is it safe for the street?
4) I know that it is very light (14lbs); is that at the expense of something I'm going to regret later?
5) Are they compatible with factory seatbelts? Someday I will upgrade to a 4/5 point harness, but that's not going to happen yet.
6) I seem to remember reading somewhere that Corbeau makes a custom slider/mount for the FC3S RX-7, is this true?
I'd box in a lightweight division if I were a boxer, so I'm not at all worried about it only being designed to accomodate 36" waists. However, I am leery of it being non-reclinable.
This will obviously be going in my TII which is mostly going to be used as a AutoX and "funday" car (not my daily driver), but I would like to be able to sit in this seat for some extended mountain driving w/o back pain & discomfort.
Any input that you have is welcomed.
Thanks,

I have one in my Karmann Ghia that's only used for autocross:
1 it'll fit but I don't know how well, it's a pretty upright position.
2 it's comfortable for about 2 hours
3 personally I think it's plenty safe
4 the only downside as you already know is not being able to recline
5 that could be the tough part, I bought the 4pt harness-make sure you get the shoulder pads
6 no idea
on the plus side it was pretty easy to install
the chairs design will definitely keep your *** planted during hard cornering
