cooling system problem???

-s5 gxl
-all the usual bolt-ons
-s4 radiator(free mine cracked)

the goose-filler neck cracked and the coolant slowly seeped through it. i didnt know until the temp started to rise. i replced it and never bled the coolant completely. now i have to fill up the radiator once a day cause the coolant either is evaporating or coming out of the exhaust? my friend said the motor might be blown...true???

-is it that i need to bleed it and refill it right?...or
-is my motor blown?

thanks for any help

It could very well be that your coolant seals are blown. I would do a search for how to tell, it's been posted before. When mine was blown I could top off the coolant, and turn the car on, and within a few minutes it would blow a steady stream of water out of the overflow, but I had no smoking from the exhaust or anything.
If I remember, a good way to tell is to top off your coolant completely, and take the cap off your filler neck. Have someone crank it, and if you get bubbles while it's cranking then your seals are probably gone. The bad news on this is that if the seals are gone, then one or more irons is most likely shot as well. If all your apex seals are good, you can rebuild your engine with a good used housings for less than $400, and that's replacing all the springs. It's also not very hard to do.

Good luck!

dude it probably isnt. just try bleeding it and check all of the hoses. remember when i had to keep refilling mine? yeah i had like 8 different leaks in the system. i know a guy in valencia that can take a look at it for you. he checked for any leaks and replaced a few hoses for like $40
