Cooling fan problem/cooling issues...
I have a weird glitch with the cooling fan, where it seems to turn off at random. The cooling light comes on and the temp gauge will float from 1/2 to a little less than 3/4. Longer, faster driving will raise the temp and at 130mph (very legally, of course), I was about 7/8 on temp gauge. Now, I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of FCs yet (or cars in general for that matter), but I'm thinking this might be caused by an electrical glitch. I've been adding additional grounds to the car, and while it has fixed some problems (clock memory, helped jumpy idle a bit), it hasn't seemed to affect the cooling fan. I also still get 3800rpm hesitation from time to time, so I need more grounds I think, anyway, but will adding more grounds fix the problem with the cooling fan? If not, what could be the real cause of the problem? While my cooling problem doesn't seem too serious at the moment, I still want to fix it. Having the cooling fan light come on all the time is annoying, and it vexes me. Greatly.
EDIT: Oh wait a sec, lol. I don't have an electric fan, do I? The stock T2 fan is run by a belt connected to the engine, right? Lol. Could the belt be slipping? I should probably replace that anyway.

actually you do have a cooling fan, I very small one infront of the radiator. It is not likely an electrical glitch. That cooling fan comes on at like 270 degrees, I think. The small electric fan is to assist the clutch fan when your A/C in on and it helps get cooler air to the a/c condensor and radiator.
first thing I would do is check the coolent level and if the belts are tight, if they are then go to the mazda dealer and buy the OEM Thermostad (get the o/ring-gasket aswell). If that doesn't fix the problem, get the coolent system flushed, and add new coolent to it 75 percent water 25 percent coolent. If this still doesn't fix it then your water pump needs to be replaced. But most likely you just need a new thermostate
