coolent issues,brakes and white smoke?
Patient: 1987 RX-7 TII , 133K on the engine.
Problems. Noticed i had a flat tire one day, so i decided not to drive the car until i got it repaired. about a week later, i hopped into the car and started it up, so i could move it to my drive way. press the brake pedal and then it went straight to the floor. I have no pressure on the brake pedal. I'm thinking master brake cylinder failed, any suggestions on what to check. there is no brake fluid leaking down my pedal, and i checked my brake lines and they are fine as well. And brake fluid level is okay as well.
Next, Since i can't drive the car around right now, i decide to start it up every other day and let the engine run up to operating temperature (dont want to let it sit too long). Anyways, i was reving the engine and noticed that white smoke was pouring out of the exhaust pipes. At first i wasnt concerned about this because when i first got the car about 3 years ago I noticed that sometimes on startup it would shoot out a cloud of white smoke, and thats about it. It would only happen once in a while.
But now I noticed that in the higher RPM's its constantly shooting out white smoke. Water seal?
Also, to give a little background info. A few months before all this (during summer), I was driving home one day and the add coolent light came on. Then I noticed how the temperature guage was climbing like mad. I turned on the heater to keep it down a bit, but It did not help much. When i got home, i popped the Hood and the coolent was boiling in the overflow bottle. After this issue, i replaced the thermestat, the water pump and the radiator. I no longer have a engine temperature problem. However I am concerened that the incident with the boiling coolent might have caused some serious problems.
Afterwards i had replaced the radiator, I noticed how every 3 or 4 days, the car's add coolent light would turn on. I would fill the coolent back up and it would work fine, but I began to take notice that after i would drive the car and park it for a while, the overflow bottle would get maxed out with coolent. In fact it overflowed so much that it began to leak out of the bottle to form a little puddle on the ground.
Any suggestions everything. I'm pretty much sure its time for engine rebuild, but Just wanted to get some opinions before i begin the teardown process
Thanks everyone

Overheating a rotary is usually death to it because of the nature of the water seals. I think I would agree with your assumption that it is time for a rebuild. Although, there have been a couple of threads posted on here about doing a temporary fix for burning coolant. Deals with radiator sealant and such... I only glanced over it. This might be a solution if you need to drive it for a while or collect some dough.

ok hears the deal the radiator cap is no good cuassing the fluid to overflow contintly so go and geat a mazda radiator cap that should help you tell if the water seals are shot (likely).as for the white smoke it is probably the omp or the oil seals on the rotor. in the case of the oil seals you need to rebuild soon. but you can still drive the car . just let it warm up before you go anywhere. i know because the same dam thing hapend to me. also about the breaks the master cylinder is most likely shot.
good luck
