coolent coming out exhaust
hey guys. yesterday morning when i went to start my 88 NA rx7, it started on 1 rotor and eventually started running on both.
when the second rotor kicked in, i noticed that a puff of white smoke that smelled exactly like antifreeze.
here are the symptoms.
the upper radiator hose is hard as a rock.
i opened the radiator cap and it smelled like exhaust.
when it sits, it floods with antifreeze, and i have to do the un-flooding procedure to get it running.
NOTE - ther is no thermostat
- about a month ago i did the s5 intake on a s4 mod and its been great till this point
now im thinking the worse and i think its the coolent seal but its not pushing the antifreeze out the overflow so i'm kinda stumped.
any help is appreciated.

I have my engine apart at the moment due to failed coolant seals. My radiator hose went hard soon after start up for the last 6 months, but I did not usually blow any coolant out the overflow. Then just recently it started to pump the coolant out the overflow. Having opened the engine up I found the inner O ring had failed, but the good news was that the rest of the engine was good and I am taking the opportunity to replace the apex seals. So its major but not like an apex seal failure, where the rotor and housing can be beyond repair. Best of luck.

2 signs of coolant seal failure...One is getting High Pressures in the Coolant system and Makng it Overheat and Burp coolant out..and another is Having it Eat Coolant and it Spitting it out the back end, since antifreeze doesn't burn very well...Sorry to say, your Engine is Toast,..would you like some Jam with that?
