coolant problem now wont start

Ok i have a weird issue with my 89 NA. My plastic thermostat housing broke, causing my engine to overheat. I got to the parts store to see what the deal was and it was obvious the car was not going to run without that part fixed so i left the car there. That was last monday or something. anyway i went back a few days later and temporarily fixed that part but now the car wont start, and is acting like its flooded. Tried pulling the egi and unflooding but no luck so i pulled the plugs. They were pretty nasty. I tried unflooding with the plugs out and it sprays gas mist out of the holes. I tried unflooding for at least an hour that day. I went back today to try again to get it started and it still had the gas mist. I pull the egi and do the unflooding procedure with the leadings out and it still sprays the mist. I did that for at least an hour again and replaced the plugs and still no luck. It acts like its going to start once or twice when i put the egi back in but then goes back to just turning over and smelling like gas.

Weird thing is I dont remember doing anything to flood the car in the first place. Is there a way to just cut the fuel pump like there is the fb? It would probably help if the plugs were firing while i was turning it over to unflood.

p.s. there was and is no moisture in the exhaust.

Did you pull the EGI Fuse in the engine bay while trying to Deflood the car. Also on s5 engines, when you put your Foot to the Floor(gas pedal) that cuts fuel. So,what you can try is Take the plugs out,EGI fuse removed..put a 1/2 oz of oil in the spark plug holes..and Turn the Engine over for say ten seconds.Put a FRESH set of plugs in,and after you put the EGI back in.Start the car without Touching the Gas pedal. It sounds like you have alot of Gas in the Housings, and If so,then you have to get rid of it,somehow. That is what the Oil is for.TO soak up the fuel and Raise compression Temporarily...another thing is,have you actually done a compression check on the car,.After your car overheated?..that may have something to do with it too..Make sure that the Wires to the Water Temp sender at the back of the Alternator didn't receive any Coolant Spillage..it would make things a little Wonky also.
