coolant problem!
This weekend i went visit a girlfriend its like a 300 miles drive! anyways half ways the add coolant sign came out so i stop quikly and check there was no water on the rad or the reserve also the reseve cap was blown so i put more water and drove it like 30 miles then again and again i varely made it there with no overheating. the most was half ways which normal is just like one fourth! i took it to thsi shop to this gay that doen know much about rotary he told me it could be an engien gasket that is sending pressure to the water line causing the reserve to get presure and blow the cap! could that be true? bad water seal? need timing belts adjusment! two weeks ago i change the water pump! because it was leaking and blow one of my water hose! i really love my Rx7 and i want to keep it so i nesd to fix it!

it sounds like maybe you lost a coolant seal, and your motor is burning coolant. do you see a white cloud, or smell burning coolant? it smells like a sweet burning smell.
more details about the car would be helpful. you might want to take it to a rotary specific shop such as mazdatrix in signal hill.
ps: the stock temperature gauge is very unreliable...by the time the needle on that thing moves, you have already been running hot for awhile.
good luck!

I suspect your "O" rings are bad. When that happens, combustion pressure goes into the coolant passages, and blows the water out. I think it's time for a rebuild.
If you do a search, you can find a temporary fix using "stop-leak" addititives, but it sounds like your leak may be beyond that.

just a personal opinion-i would be wary of that stop leak or block seal stuff...ive torn apart more than a few motors where the coolant passages were completly sealed shut by this stuff...causing the motor to overheat.

I agree. I opted not to use it when my seals went, because I knew it would be a mess when I rebuilt the motor (which you're going to have to eventually do, anyway).
