hose from driver side firewall to drifer side engine

ok so I have a hole in my hose going from firewall to driver side engine. The hose holds coolant, and im quite sure its a heater hose. I have gone to schucks, car quest, and all the places around here and they are 100% sure that their hose will work. Its just a skinny hose with a 90 degree kink in it. The hose on my car comes out of the firewall behind the engine, turns to the drifer side 90 degree, then goes down 90 degree then turns back into the engine 90 degree. This is somewhat of a rant, because I'm going to end up going to mazda for a stupid hose. ... ARG !

Is there anything else I can use that would work till I drive 3 hours to a mazda dealership?

I actually just replaced the same hose (it is called the engine to throttle body hose, it is good for heating the throttle body under cold start conditions.) I used the hose from Advance auto parts, placed the factory protective boot back on it to avoid rub-through and determined to get the right hose when I next get a chance. It is available online from mazdatrix for $12.83 (which is less than the Advance price. of 13.99.)

The Advance auto parts hose rubs some, I would recommend waiting for a little while to get the correct hose from Mazdatrix.

When my heater hose blew I just replaced it with a regular piece of hose. I always told myself I'd order the molded hose from Mazda but I never got around to it... So far I've driven 5,000 miles or so with it and I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

You're wrong, that's not the same hose (I think).

I do beleive he's talking about the heater hose below the oil filter. It's a complicated routing for the hose. Mine blew and I made a generic hose work, but it's not ideal. Go to the dealer and order the correct hose.

thats figgin hilarious!
mine blew last week. it got a tear from being so old. it was $45 shipped from mazdatrix, it just got here today. apparantley these go bad quite often due to oil saturation from oil seeping onto it from oil filter changing.
