convertible turbo conversion
convertible turbo conversion
I have an 88 convertible that I just finished puting an N/A motor in. I also have a wrecked 89 turbo. I was told that the turbo motor will bolt into an N/A car, but the engine wiring harness is different. So my first question is whether the turbo motor will really bolt in. If so what are the other problems I would have making the turbo motor work in a convertible. The engine wiring harness in the convertible can be pulled out through the firewall in one piece. If the turbo is the same then I can just swap the harness, and computer. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Yes It should be relitivly easy to swap the turbo engine into the vert. There is a lot of info on this site about doing the swap. Look it up and it will help you.
Basicly, swap the engine, tranny. The rear end is a good idea too. The wireing harness for the engine and into the turbo ECU. Air meter Pressure sensor. and a few other things will do it. Again do some research. The only problem I can see is going to be the 88 wireing. In an 89 vert you could just plug the dash wires into the new ecu and it would be fine. But since you have a Series 5 swap going into a sereies 4 body, you might have to replace all of the interior wires as well.
