Exclamation Convertible top on my 88 will not go down!

I think my switch is out. What options are there to drop the top without needing to replace the switch. Please let me know. Thanks.

Is the parking brake engaged?

If that is not the problem...

If the roof moves a little and gets 'stuck', then the computers may think it is already down...

You might try removing and replacing the chips. They may also need to have their contacts cleaned.

IceMark may be able to give you a little help... He is big on Vert electronics.

As for dropping the top manually, there are holes in the side of the rear cabin, under the rear shelf... There is an allen wrench that is used to crank the top up or down manually. I have never had to do it so I can't quote the procedure. It is in the manual if you have one.
