Convertable tops

OK, they make lots of aftermarket parts for these cars but does someone make a fiberglass top to replace the soft part of the top on the verts. Just the soft top so you could keep the targatop as is so it could still be removed. I think there would be a decent market for a peice like that and be close to affordable since it would not have to be that big. If they don't make it why not? If they do would someone tell me where its found at? Please Rspond.

No hardtops on any kind ever made for rx-7 vert's that I'm aware of.

Probably never was a big enough market, there were about 17, 000 vert's made, compare that to 1 million Miata's and 30 or 40 thousand BMW Z3/4's a year.

We are lucky to be able to get a replacement top and even that requires you reuse the glass and targa section!

yeah I looked into it last year with a company that makes fiber glass molds and if I made a shape mold and provided it to them I would have to buy 10 to start with at 750 each raw fiber glass. They will still need to be worked and sanded down for the exact fitting. I have no problem investing the money to have this done but it will be far down on my list of things to do. Also it will be tuff for me to sell 10 of these and listen to people cry about it not fitting exactly right. So until I can set out some time to do this and drop 7500 down it will be on hold. Anyone else is welcome to try. Hell I will even buy one of yours.
