Question considering anon-rotary rx7

ok well,i posted before about rebuilding a rotary engine to make 450 hp. butlatly i have been thinking is it would be possible to stuff a supercharged ecotech enigne into it. i am sure it would be good for around 230 hp at the crank. the reason i want an ecotech intstead of rotary is because i am hearing the rx7s get bad gas milage.
do any of you know the weight difference of the rotary and the new ecotech???
by the way, im lookign to get a 89 rx7

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that engine suited to FWD?

Does it have applications in RWD vehicles?

well anything that makes 450HP is not going to have good fuel economy. I have no idea if that engine would fit and IMHO I would kick your *** if you were my friend just for saying that about putting a pist-on engine in a seven. Get a 13REW and put it into the FC or maybe even a 20B in there. That will get you to that HP rating with some good mods. Never expect economy and performance to go together.

Why an ecotech? You sound like a 240SX canidate.

A TII will do 230hp without much trouble.

A 2 rotor is suppose to weight something like 70-80% of a 4-cylinder. I think some of the weight figures I've seen posted here are a bit high, given that I've picked up a 13BT with manifolds & turbo.

Ecotechs are crappy engines, with weak internals. If you're going to drop a non-rotary engine into an RX-7, use a SR20DET or something. Those engines are pretty bulletproof and have a great aftermarket.

Do a SR20DET in a RX-7 I don't believe I have seen that one done. Good strong motor can make lots of HP. A lot of the engine parts are available to buy here is something breaks

This reminds me of that thread where that guy wanted to drop a B16 into his RX-7 because 1.6+turbo is better than 1.3+turbo. If you want gas mileage, dont build a 450hp car, simple as that. Im sure it would be much much easier and CHEAPER to just buy a focus or ZX2 to start off with.
