Condensation in Flash to Pass Lense
Condensation in Flash to Pass Lense
My passengers side flash to pass lense has like a foggy watery build up in it any time it is even remotely cool out. Anyone know how the water gets in there and how to seal it off so that doesn't happen?

If you pull the FTP lens, there is a tube looking thing that comes from the back. It is where all of the wiring goes on the J-Spec lenses. It is plugged w/ some blue or black stuff. remove that, so air can get in there and dry it out! Or, just hollow them out! I looks really cool, and only takes about 30 min for both.
The same exact thing happened to my ftp lens. I took it out and there was a little hole in the back that was jammed with something that looked like it was keeping the air from evaporating out. So i took the thingy out and then i remounted the lens and the thing never dried up(even when it was in the sun for like 2 days, it just seemed like everytime it rained so much fog would be in there that it would evaporate). So i took it out again and then i put the lens in the window sill and let it dry out completely. Then i took plastic epoxy and sealed the entire rim of the ftp lens all of the way around, let it dry and then mounted it. Hasn't fogged up since. (i left the hole in the back open, there must have been a lot of water leaking around the edge of the lens.)

Raise the headlights, pull the retractor fuse (to ensure you still have an arm afterwards) and remove the plastic trim around the headlights. Reach in around the back of the FTP lenses and you'll feel two 10mm nuts. Undo them and they pop out.
