Compressor Surge? BOV Issues * Video*

So, I've been having a hard time with my BOV, I cant seem to hear it, even when i'm boosting. It's an Apexi Dual Chamber, and Ive been told they are decently loud, so I figure I SHOULD be able to hear it. Below is a video of what I AM hearing. I dont know what compressor surge sounds like, but in my mind it sounds like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEsqWjXgg0U

Any help on this would be great. I am using the vacuum line from the lowest of 3 nipples on the UIM. When I take it off of the BOV, the engine starts to die, and I can feel/hear air from the line.

I can't even tell where your BOV is mounted... But I can tell you that you need to re-orient your AFM so that it's level.

that is not compressor surge, sounds like the flapper in the AFM slapping back and forth because it's on it's side or some other problem.

and what do you mean you can hear/feel air from the vac line when removed from the BOV? Does air come out of the line or does it suck air into the line?

Yeah, make sure and mount the AFM level or it'll do weird things. Also, take a pic so I can see where you have the BOV mounted.

On top of what they have said, if your only running on the stock 6lbs of boost, your not going to hear much anyway. I'm running 12lbs and a hks BOV and its barely audible over the engine.

Yeah, I know that it shouldnt be blowing off when I rev it. When I drive it under load though, it is still barely audible. Even with the window open.

Yeah, I have the apexi twin chamber one on my other car and you can hear it really well... The question is are you positive that you have the bov to a vacuum source?

You can free rev a engine and get the bov to go off, I dont know what kind of crack you have. (Like someone stated above just have to go a little higher in rpm)

On the UIM, I am using the bottom of 3 nipples, as was mentioned on a different thread.

Yes the apexi twin chamber is adjustable. Where do you have the adjusting bolt at? (All the way screwed in or out?)

The adjusting bolt is about half-way in (or out, depending on your view).

That damn flapper is so loud when I'm driving, its hard to hear the BOV at all. I need to get some 3" bent pipe so I can move the AFM, so that it can be level.
