Collision insurance?
Yes, I do. I've had it since the car was new. Probably only about $300 a year (I would need to look at the policy for sure). I figure my '89TII is worth a hell of a lot more than that. Even book value for a private party is $4100 stock. I have all receipts etc. and a lot more that that in it. I just keep all receipts and hope I never need to use them for documentation.
My daughter just had an accident with her '94 Cavalier convertible, her fault, car was totaled. She got a check for $3685, in her pocket. $4185-$500.
To me it's worth it.

My 91 just fell below the "not worth it" threshold.
If you put much into an older car, you can get insurance for higher than book declared value.
I don't know much about it, except that costs more.

Well I have an 88...I since put a new engine in it and am getting it all repainted this month. However, I asked the insurance lady and she said to still not put collision on it because the insurance companies don't really take that stuff into account:\
